What we collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address, a display name you choose, your native language, and (depending on your role) your English accent or the variety of English you are most exposed to. If you contribute content, we also store what you submit: written explanations, audio recordings, video files, and comments. If you contact a teacher through Booking Hub, we store the message you send.

How we use it

We use this information to run the core features of SoundPairs: showing your name and country flag alongside content you contribute, letting other users find and contact teachers, moderating submissions before they appear publicly, and improving the site. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Contributed content

Written tips, audio recordings, and video you submit as a contributor are reviewed by an administrator before they appear publicly. Once approved, they are visible to all visitors, including your display name. By submitting content, you confirm you own the rights to it and grant SoundPairs permission to display it on the site, as stated at the point of submission.

Comments

Comments you post are reviewed before appearing publicly. We store the comment text and a reference to your account.

Where your data is stored

Account data, submissions, and audio/video files are stored using Supabase, a third-party infrastructure provider. Automated pronunciation audio may be generated using your device or browser’s own text-to-speech capability, which does not send audio data to us.

Your choices

You can update your display name, native language, and accent information at any time from your profile page. You can delete individual submissions you own from Contributor Studio. To request full account deletion, contact us using the email below.
